ジェイムズ・ダレンが本作を制作することができたのはフランク・シナトラに負うところが大きいことは明らかだが、その音が新鮮に響いているのは自身の手柄である。かつてのダレンは60年代初期の10代のアイドルだった。だが最近ではTVドラマスタートレック ディープ・スペース・ナインでの、ホロデッキ映像として登場するいにしえの不良少年タイプの甘い歌声の歌手、ヴィック・フォンテインとして有名である。本作の軽快なスタンダードナンバーはすべてその番組内で歌った曲である（こうして、ダレンは新スタートレック ネクスト・ジェネレーションのブレント・スピナーの跡を継いでいる。スピナーは1991年にシナトラ風のアル バム『Ol’ Yellow Eyes Is Back』を制作している）。ダレンのボーカルはシナトラよりトニー・ベネットによく似合っている。そして、素晴らしいオーケストラと、アラン・ブロードベントやサミー・ネスティコやマーティー・ペイチを含む第一級のアレンジャーに支えられ、偉大なナンバーをそろえたコレクションを歌っている。本作はスタートレック ディープ・スペース・ナインのファンならすぐさま飛びつくだろうし、この時代を超えたスタイルを持つボーカルのファンもみな手を伸ばすことだろう。（David Horiuchi ,.co.uk）
