Amazonレビュー The New Testament Of Funk series is the house and funky breaks division of Acid Jazz, a label increasingly opening its arms to varied, more eclectic styles. New Testament Volume 3 is no exception, embracing thirteen tracks that share a rare regard for quality coupled with an innate understanding of the funk and all its myriad guises. If you're a fan of rumbling double-bass lines, choppy hooks and 1960s influenced go-go, you've come to the right place. However, what separates this bunch from the label's usual retro output is the empathy of the tracks with more contemporary styles. Erobique's synth-prodded "Greven Love" could easily bed down with the Stardusts of this world, while DJ Naked's "California", though not unlike a minimal, funky Joy Division, still sounds chillingly futuristic. Other highlights on this cooler-than-thou affair include the sampladelic "Thr33 Balk Bros" from Missing, That Girl Lynn's Nu-mod anthem, "Amber Flash", plus a rare and slightly disturbing breakbeat version of "Send In The Clowns" from E&E Sounds.
