It is part of the Core i7 lineup, using the Haswell architecture with Socket G3. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading the core-count is effectively doubled, to 4 threads. Core i7-4610M has 4MB of L3 cache and operates at 3 GHz by default, but can boost up to 3.7 GHz, depending on the workload. Intel is making the Core i7-4610M on a 22 nm production node using 960 million transistors. The multiplier is locked on Core i7-4610M, which limits its overclocking potential. With a TDP of 37 W, the Core i7-4610M consumes only little energy. Intel's processor supports DDR3 memory with a dual-channel interface. The highest officially supported memory speed is 1600 MHz, but with overclocking (and the right memory modules) you can go even higher. For communication with other components in the system, Core i7-4610M uses a PCI-Express Gen 3 connection.
