This unlikely strategy paid off in a 18-under-par score that included an amazing eagle on the par-4 14th hole in the second round that even had Woods asking caddy Steve Williams "It went in?" in disbelief. While Sergio Garcia made a third-round run to earn a spot in the final pairing with Woods, the Spaniard collapsed on Sunday and Chris DiMarco, battling his own sadness after the death of his mother, provided the toughest competition down the stretch. But Woods was not to be denied, and his emotional outburst after the final hole was a touching moment. The highlights include the best moments of DiMarco, Garcia, and Ernie Els as well as some off-the-course events (was it really necessary to refer to John Daly as "larger than life"?), but those are all footnotes to watching Woods make history again. --David Horiuchi
